The end of WOTLK

So, as of today it's over. Honestly, I'm happy this expansion is coming to a close. I've spend most of my time in WOTLK rerolling new toons and experiencing the game at lower levels. And something huge has changed for me in the last week or so. I'm not what exactly the motivating factor was, but I'm finding myself back on the Alliance after years of being Horde. The strangest thing is that I actually like it. I'm still not ever rolling a gnome though.

Okay so today the cinematic was released for WOTLK. And it was.. meh. The scene with Arthas and his father was really excellent, very poignant. I like how his eyes actually clear from the lich glow, a nice visual of the whole " I can see clearly now" phenomena. And He knows that the light has forsaken him, as it should, as he dies. The rest with Bolvar? Meh, I don't really like the way he looks. Reminds me of the Lawnmower man movie. However, having Bolvar as the new Lich King is kinda interesting to me.

First off, it's a very interesting dichotomy.. Bolvar is burning, not just regular fire, but the fire of the Life-Binder. Very paradoxical that he's infused with the fire of the red dragon flight, and yet now rules over the undead. I've read quite a few theories this morning about the merging of Ner'zhul and Bolvar, but IMO, it's clear it's Bolvar in charge at this point. Hence the burning red eyes from this point forward. I'm not getting into the whole is ner'zhul still in charge/no it's his spirit/no separate lich king argument. I just think that whatever he is now, it's clear Bolvar is now in charge.

So..cataclysm next. Is Deathwing woken because the change in the lich king? The defeat of Sindragosa? Poor Sindragosa, mate of Malygos, killed by deathwing, and driven mad while she desperately tries and fails to reach dragonblight before dying only to resurrected and enslaved by Arthas. Talk about adding insult to injury. Interesting to see how many Dragon fights are in WOTLK. Valithria, the healing fight looks like really fun (but i thought that about oculus so that shows how much i know). Sarth and his drake buddies, and Malygos, whose actually an aspect. Pretty much just taunts deathwing i guess.

And last but not least where does this leave Sylvanas? She has taken her revenge, so basically she no longer has a need for the Horde. Clearly she isn't trusted, otherwise the Kor'kron wouldn't have replaced her guards.

Jaina, i guess will just have to find another boyfriend. So far both Kael'thas and Arthas have both been the kind of men she's attracted to herself, so maybe she should enter therapy and figure out why.

Things I miss.

I miss waiting for 3 sunders.

Meh.

Wow, I'm bored again. What is it about WOTLK that fails to hold my attention? The idea of raiding being available for everybody is certainly a sound business decision, but it just feels so lackluster. Really unfortunate. Gear is just so readily available that there isn't really anyway of determining a decent player from a bad one. And gearscore is no answer. Seeing a 4500+ gearscore deathknight stacking spellpower proves that quite aptly.

So, i go back to what i like to do to pass the time. I'd really like a versatile healer, so I'm thinking about finally making that priest. I don't know. Maybe I should just go back to the druid.

Thank you Blizzard :D

Clearly I haven't been posting very often, but then I haven't been playing very often either. Basically I've just been messing around and making alts, visiting the old world (I'm a vanilla wow fan at heart). My healers have been collecting dust, I've leveled 2 alts, and my house has never been cleaner. Patch 3.3 dropped and I just really like the changes, and have been playing more lately.

I think Blizz deserves a shout out for actually making a WOTLK instance with crowd control. I cannot even remember the last time i saw a mage sheep a target that wasn't in the BG's, or a hunter trap something, or a priest shackeling an undead. It's a nice change. I know there are some people who just don't like Halls of Reflection, but just because you find something hard doesn't mean it's not worth doing. So, I think I'm going to rejoin the raiding world ( or what it's evolved into) and take a trip to ICC later tonight. Which means I will be back with more observations to keep myself amused. Shortly i will complaining about the fact that still don't have a shield upgrade, frustrated that the broken hilt still hasn't dropped for me, and annoyed that my cloak was ninja'd by a hunter.

Broodings about the Brood of the Blue Dragonflight.

So lately I've been spending some online time in lovely Icecrown. I'm trying to get together the 5k gold for the epic flying on the hunter and I've found that doing quests that are bunched together in a small area is a very good way to raise some gold. Now she's just completed the questline with Tirion Fordering at the cathedral of Darkness (I'm not here to spoil it for those who haven't done it yet) and I'm starting to think about one of the first quest in the chain. Now the ghost kid asks you to bring him whelp dust, but here's the interesting thing. Out of all the dragon flight, why is Arthas raising the Blue Dragons as his frost wyrms? Is it any surprise that that maybe this is why Malygos is so pissed off and starting a war with everybody? Poor Malygos, betrayed by his best friend, his family decimated, and now Arthas is raising their bodies.

31 bosses in Icecrown?

So anybody read MMO-champion today? I read it all the time. Seems Ghosty has let the cat out of the bag about how many bosses Icecrown Citadel has. Now i'm not a huge fan of taking little tiny snips of blue posts and saying it's law, but he actually says "(yes IC is that big)", which makes me think he's not kidding. The problem with Arthas is that every time you kill one of his minions, he's likely to raise them again. Which is why there will be 31 bosses. Maybe you have to clear Naxx- Part Deux to get to Arthas! Seriously how many times does it take to kill an undead? That would just be awful to have to kill all the naxx bosses yet again to get through the citidel. Perhaps this is the reason raid leaders can now extend lock out time. Makes me wonder. You think Bolvar is his new right hand man? I'm betting on an epic cut scene as well. Here's my vote for patch 3.3 I think Frostmourne will drop, and will promptly be ninja'd by a hunter. Discuss.

Weird Finds

Just wanted to share this little picture. I like finding odd stuff like this in game.
